![]() It is recommended that you don't buy tool crafting until you have the material to make a special tool in your hand - before that, it is a waste of skill points.įor each crafting type, with the exception of tool crafting, there are 25 stanzas. Tool crafting is used to make special tools, as explained in Special Tools & Boosted Crafting. Tool crafting - You cannot craft normal tools with tool crafting.Shield crafting - this is not available until crafting lvl.In addition, there are two less obvious crafting types: Range crafting - this is for crafting guns and ammo, and is not available on Silan. There are four main crafting types, each of which is accompanied by a stanza set: Both of these can be bought from a Crafter Trainer. So, what do you need to get started with crafting in Ryzom?īefore you can craft anything, you need both a stanza for the type of crafting you want to do, and a plan for the particular item you wish to craft. Once you've got a good grasp on these, you'll want to read the Advanced Crafting section too. It is recommended that, in addition to reading this guide, new players do the tutorial missions for Sterga Hamla on Silan as these provide an excellent hands-on crash course regarding the basics of crafting.Īs crafting in Ryzom is so complex, the first section of this article addresses only the very basics. However, the rewards are well worth the effort. Someone who has maxed their crafting tree can easily still be a poor crafter. Large guild battles are fought in the most perilous corners of Atys, for the privilege of having first pickings of the most valuable crafting materials.Ĭrafting in Ryzom is very different from crafting in most other games, so for many new players it entails a steep learning curve there is much, much more to crafting than having the levels to craft high quality gear. As such, crafting is central to Ryzom no warrior or mage can get by without a good player crafted weapon or set of amps and materials used in crafting are the main currency of the Ryzom economy. Player-crafted equipment is, without doubt, the best equipment available ingame - equipment sold on the vendors by NPCs, and even Bandit Lord loot equipment, pale in comparison. There used to be a seller that had the plans as well as patterns for the Catalina, and I believe that if you check the Chris Craft 63 foot motor yacht thread on this forum, there is a source of plans and patterns for the 63 footer, as well as several build threads. In Ryzom, crafting is a fascinatingly complex system, with many little oddities and facets of interest for those willing to be constantly baffled in the name of science. I have seen some other ebay listings for kit plans, such as the Sterling Catalina, but as far as I can tell, they do not have patterns. You will have to come up with your own motor installation, though, as the kit originally was disigned for a single gas engine, as opposed to the twin screw configuration of the actual boat. Consequently, the information provided in this plan set is very complete. Most kit plans do not include patterns for the parts, so when you buy a kit plan, you may have to do some of your own design work to "fill in the blanks." Since this set is the actual paper plans, you will not have to find someone to print them, although I would want to make copies of the sheetwood so I could always replace a part if I goof up when building the model or something "horrible" happens (particularly if you have a dog or cat 'assistant' during construction.) I have an unbuilt kit of this model, and can tell you that the sheetwood even has patterns for many of the fittings, which you would most likely want to replace with metal ones. #Ryzom generic craft plans fullIt has the full sized plan and - most important - copies of all the sheetwood from the original kit. The third set is from the Dumas Challenger kit. I have dealt with this seller before, and they are very reliable. SInce the plan was part of a construction article, also included on the CD, you should have all the information you need to build the model. Additionally, being a digital set of plans, you can have it printed out at any size you want. However, the CD also includes an enlarged plan for a 1/12 scale which would give you a 36" model. It is a smaller model though, being 26" long as opposed to the 36" Dumas Model. The second is a CD of a construction article for the Chris Craft Commander, similar to the Dumas kit. You can see that all the hull parts and bulkheads are included, but it may be a little sketchy on cabin construction. The first is for the Chris Craft Constellation. If you want to build a vintage cabin cruiser, here are three offerings on ebay that you may be interested in. ![]()
